CivicLabs took the stage at COP29 Azerbaijan and presented the vision for reshaping the built environment and combat climate change: “Building the Future: Innovation, Collaboration, Cleantech & Climatech,” our cities, buildings, and infrastructure hold a transformative role in solving the climate crisis, and regional cooperation is essential in these efforts.
The session later brought together brilliant leaders including Mr. Fariz JAFAROV, Executive Director of C4IR Azerbaijan; Mr. Petros Varelidis, General Secretary of the Greek Ministry of Environment; and Mr. Shlomi Kofman, VP of International Collaboration at the Israeli Innovation Authority. Each speaker highlighted how ClimaTech and regional collaboration are fueling sustainable solutions across borders. We were also honored by special visits and distinguished guests like Mr. Mukhtar Babayev, @COP29 President, Mr. Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Economy from Azerbaijan, and Ms. Idit Silman, Israel’s Environmental Protection Minister, who emphasized the need for resilient, collaborative climate strategies.
Our dear colleague, Mr. Ran Sasson, CEO of DAROM Innovation Center presented insights on the economic and social impacts of establishing an innovation hub in peripheral/rural settings and how it can be done effectively.
With CivicLabs and the great support of the Ministry of Regional Cooperation, Israel Innovation Authority, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, this event underscored Israel’s commitment to climate innovation and collaboration in the built environment. Together, we are building a future where decarbonization and resilience are at the heart of sustainable development.
